Heather Brianna Marie Wilkins |
(Crime Library) — Her name is Heather, but she goes by Brianna, or Bri. The trim blonde stands 5'8", weighs around 135 lbs. Heather Brianna Marie Wilkins, missing from Livingston, MT since January 11, 2006, may be a runaway. She may be in peril. This photo on her "missing poster" shows a pretty face, yellow hair carelessly curving over her right cheek, a diamond stud in her left nostril. There is something relaxed, dreamy in her smile.
Why would a minor, two weeks shy of her 18th birthday, already legally separated from her family and on her own, run away from home?
During her 17th year Brianna apparently traveled around the country, on her own and with her boyfriend. When she disappeared, she had been staying with her mother and younger sister Amoura in Livingston.
Brianna's mother Cheryl, who appears to go by more than one name, gave her name as Chera Walsh in an interview to the Bozeman, MT Daily Chronicle. On Jan. 14, Brianna's mom was worried about her daughter:
"Chera Walsh, mother of missing Livingston girl Heather "Brianna" Marie Wilkins, said Saturday she fears her daughter may be dead (...)
"'Nothing about it makes sense,' Walsh said Saturday. 'If she was still alive she would have definitely called...'"
When she vanished that day in January, Brianna was allegedly on foot, "out for a walk," and she was not dressed for any kind of journey. Brianna Wilkins was supposedly wearing gray sweatpants, a gray sweatshirt, brown knee-high fur boots, and a sheepskin coat. Speaking to Billings, MT TV station KTVQ on Jan. 16, Brianna's mother also disclosed that the light tan sheepskin coat was hers, and worth at least $1000. She also made a statement about Brianna's father:
"Chera told KTVQ Monday her ex-husband has kidnapped Brianna before, back in 1998. He now lives in paradise valley and has a warrant out for his arrest for not paying child support, Chera Wilkins said..."
