| Altemio Sanchez |
| BUFFALO, N.Y. — After eluding the authorities for more than two decades, an alleged serial killer is now behind bars. According to late-breaking reports, the man has been identified as Altemio Sanchez, 48, of Cheektowaga, New York. The investigation is ongoing. The Bike Path Rapist attacked at least 11 women over the past two decades, killing three of them. The case received national media attention this past November when authorities linked the death of 45-year-old mother of four Joan Diver, a suburban Amherst homemaker, to a series of attacks that started in the 1980s and mysteriously stopped in the mid-1990s. |
SWAZI, South Africa — The trial of alleged serial killer David Thabo Simelane is set to resume on March 12. Simelane, who is suspected of killing more than 30 women and children, is said to be the worst serial killer Africa has ever seen. While he was initially cooperative with investigators, going so far as to lead them to several bodies, Simelane has since decided to plead innocent to the 34 murders he is accused of committing. Authorities believe that number to be much higher; however, they have been unable to link him to any other unsolved murders.
