Local news station WISN 12 spoke with several residents about the murders. While many expressed disbelief over the crimes, others seemed concerned the killer might return. Neighbor Bruce Davis said he was prepared to take his personal safety into his own hands. "I'm locked and loaded," Davis said. "People have to take their own precautions."
On Sunday, the Rock County Sheriff's Department announced that the coroner's office had completed autopsies on the three victims; however, Rock County Coroner Jenifer Keach refused to release the cause of death because it could "jeopardize the investigation." Nicole did keep her MySpace profile updated. In fact, her profile lists her last login-in as January 12, 2007. Hence, the murders most likely occurred at some point on Friday, rather than Thursday evening. Interestingly enough, Nicole's boyfriend had called a neighbor on Thursday because he was unable to get in touch with her. There is the possibility the authorities accessed her MySpace profile; however, unless they had immediate access to her password, it is unlikely they were able to subpoena MySpace quickly enough to access it on Friday.
