BOULDER, Colo. (Crime Library) — Next month will mark the one year anniversary of the death of 10-week-old Jason Midyette. The baby's parents, Alex and Molly Midyette, brought him into a hospital emergency room on Feb. 24 because, according to them, he "looked lethargic."
Doctors soon discovered that the underweight infant had suffered 27 broken bones and massive head trauma, including a fractured skull and a cerebral hemorrhage. He died a week later.

In July, Boulder County Coroner Thomas Faure, after consulting with several outside experts, ruled Jason's death a homicide. Tests confirmed that he did not have osteogenesis imperfecta, more commonly known as brittle bone syndrome.

Nearly 11 months have passed since the death of Jason Midyette and still no one has been made to answer for it. No charges have been filed, no arrests have been made.
Alex and Molly Midyette have steadfastly refused to tell the police what happened to their son.
Likewise, District Attorney Mary Lacy, despite a growing crescendo of criticism, has stubbornly refused to answer questions about the case.
